A new Hertfordshire lodge for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, parents and supporters of the game. Built from scratch, on the values we already live by in rugby.

Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship go with you long after the final whistle. They sit naturally beside the principles of Freemasonry.
Integrity
Respect the referee's call, play to the laws, do the right thing when nobody is watching. The game teaches it; the Craft builds on it.
Friendship
The bond of the changing room, carried into the lodge. Players, coaches, parents and volunteers from every club, meeting as equals.
Respect
For opponents, officials and each other. A welcoming lodge where newcomers are looked after and every brother has a part to play.
Service
Giving back to the grassroots game: kit for junior sections, bursaries for clubs and support for inclusive rugby across Hertfordshire.

At the clubs
Attending Captains' Days, Presidents' Day lunches and end-of-season dinners across the county, on the clubs' terms.
Kit for juniors
At each engagement, a gift for the host club's youth or junior section: tackle pads, training equipment, whatever they need most.
Club bursaries
An annual grant programme clubs can apply to for kit, facilities, coaching qualifications or youth tournament travel.

Consecration
Endorsed by the Provincial Grand Master and sponsored by Old Albanians Lodge No. 4999, the lodge will be consecrated in 2027. The date will be confirmed by the Province. Register your interest now to be part of it from the start.

Three regular meetings a year: January, May (Installation) and October.
A peripatetic lodge: we take Freemasonry to where rugby lives, meeting at clubs and venues across the county. Our administrative home is Mayflower Place, Hertingfordbury.

The proposal for The Hertfordshire Rugby Lodge has been endorsed by the Hertfordshire Executive and the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Neil Connolly.

Where it began: an idea shared between friends
The lodge started not in a committee room but in a conversation between friends, and a series of founders' meetings in Datchworth.

Consecration of the lodge
Date and venue to be confirmed by the Province.
Once consecrated, the lodge will hold its regular meetings in January, May (Installation) and October.
